BLACK FRIDAY ENTERPRISES
Black Friday Enterprise is an upper school program aimed to engage Year 10-13 students in innovative practical ventures to develop a range of skills in preparation for transition. Students work as part of a team to create and develop ideas for an enterprise project and then follow through every step to make this a success.
The Enterprise program gives students exposure to the Retail and Business environment by developing practical skills as part of fulfilling the requirements of the Certificate 1 in Retail and Business courses as well as ASDAN Business enterprise.
Students practice using digital technologies such as sending emails and telephone skills to take orders and to process payments using the cash register and eftpos machine.
Through this exposure, students use effective and extensive skills in literacy, numeracy, communication and advertising skills, through engaging with customers from diverse backgrounds. As well as developing problem-solving skills. In the process, students also develop post-school craft skills that may enable them to start a micro- business of their own.
